There was a room with a bunch of girls just waiting like they were waiting for the results of some sort of test; or waiting to try out for something. A woman walked in who was to decide who would be chosen. She was to choose the woman half of the double figure skating couple for some competition. She started walking down the line of girls yelling no or not good enough, definitely not, not pretty enough, and stuff like that. She had a fast pace, not taking time on anyone really. I was at the end of the row, and I knew she would choose me, would be see I was fit and be stunned by my looks. I mean, it was my own dream and I knew there weren’t any other really pretty girls – I made it that way. Funny how you can control some things in your dream and not others. I guess that its highly unusual for the female protagonist to start out looking good – usually they are the underdogs, who grow into their beauty or strengths, but I’m just telling the facts. Although facts can change over time. But for right now, with the facts as they are, I am on the better looking end of the spectrum.
Anyway, to continue, the woman is walking down the line at a quick pace, and I, knowing she would choose no one but me, stood there watching some sort of video on the wall. Well, I was looking, but not watching. I was trying to seem serene, as if I didn’t suspect anything to come of me being there; as if I didn’t already know that I would get chosen. So the woman gets to me and stops and stares for a second or two and then turns and runs out of the room. Yes, I had stunned her with my beauty and physique. The next thing I know I am being taken into an ice rink, there to meet my partner. I seem to recall he was pretty good looking, although obviously not memorable enough because I don’t really remember. However, he had brown hair and toned body of a skater. So I knew I had to skate, and perform in some competition, but really knew nothing other than the basics of skating. It was like rollerblading I always thought. Except on ice, with blades instead of wheels that could potentially slice someone if you end up falling, which you seem to do a lot more in ice skating than rollerblading. But other than that, the basics are the same. I figured, with a trainer, I would do well. Then the dream took on a different turn. I could feel it change. I knew suddenly that it wasn’t about figure skating at all, but there was something weird happening.
The next thing I remember was I was in what I think was the church building. There were some type of alien creatures roaming; they were roaming around in hooded cloaks, ill bent on causing harm. I don’t remember how they got there or anything that happened in between, because apparently that wasn’t the epic crazy part of the dream. Although it does sound like something essential to know now that I am fully conscious and trying to write it down. But how often are dreams really linear with reasoning and logic for every happenstance? So continuing on, I’m running for some reason I don’t remember, but not as if I’m running from something, or chasing something, but more like there is something important I have to do, but I cant exactly remember what it was. So I go through a door and I’m in the balcony seats of a theater. It’s empty, but there is one guy right inside the door. I stop, and he conveys some message of note to me. It seemed useful, and he seemed like a good guy. So I leave and am back in the hallways in the church building.
Then there are about five people, who apparently I had met along my journey and come to know and we were all standing in this indention in the wall where a door was. It was like a little alcove. The creatures were roaming the halls and would pass by the alcove without noticing everybody. There was a black girl who had a twin sister, me, the large bodied man I met in the theater balcony, another girl who seemed to look up to the large bodied man as if he were her savior from everything that was happening, and some other person I don’t remember. As we are standing there the twin’s twin was walking past the alcove. She had somehow been separated and was still wandering around scared for her life in the midst of the creatures. She didn’t seem to see us or the alcove, just like the creatures. The black girl wanted to pull her twin into the safety of the alcove, but there was a complication of some sort.
I had somehow been able to see through the creatures disguise and realize that the large man was not human, but was in fact one of the creatures in disguise. I pulled a gun on him and pointed it at his head. No one else could see what I saw though. I didn’t say anything, but just had my gun pulled on him. The girl who was with the large bodied man and looked up to him was begging me to stop, to put away my gun, asking why I would ever want to kill him. She was in tears. It occurs to me that he possibly saved her life in some way, and she then took him as a saint and followed him around like a naïve little puppy. I had double vision, seeing both the disguise of the man, cowering back in fear, trying to persuade me to put the gun away, but I could also see the creature who it really was. It was grinning the widest and creepiest grin I had ever seen, looking like it had already won, either way I chose. It was evil. It wanted me to shoot him. I could hear its thoughts. It didn’t seem to realize that I could though. He knew that if I shot him, it would look like I had shot an innocent man and the group would turn on me, and whatever it was that we had to do to win against the creatures, would never be done. But as long as he was alive, something couldn’t happen. I think that as long as he was alive, the twin would never reach safety.
Apparently he had been seeing the twin, disguised as the man, but he had already learned what he needed from her so it didn’t matter. He didn’t need her alive anymore so he left her. I had the choice: the choice to shoot the creature in disguise or not. If I did, it would be what he wanted, and I couldn’t figure out still why exactly that would help him, only that it would, and we would never win against the invasion. But if I didn’t, he would be able to continue to influence and control the decisions made in the group, further putting people’s lives in danger.
Now that I think about it, this could have been the same man that was to be my figure skating partner. That’s why I was chosen. They needed something from me and were using the front of training me to be his partner in order to get it. Anyway, it was the decision that everything hinged on, but I woke up before I had to choose whether to pull the trigger or not. I’ll have to finish the story on my own. When I’m fully conscious, and hope it doesn’t turn out retarded now that I have to think of my own stuff.
